(Scroll down for video) Three people were arrested after filing a false police report in order to have a man falsely arrested.

However, their plan backfired and the couple of Oregon, along with their friend were arrested.

Police were called to the Springfield Dari Mart on Rainbow Drive on Friday, for a report of an attempted kidnapping.

23-year-old William Brady and his wife Marlena, 24, told police that a man grabbed their 3-year-old daughter and tried to kidnap her.

The couple said that William kicked the man in the face in order to get their daughter back. The couple enlisted their friend Connie Howlett, to corroborate their story and act as a witness.

When police spoke to the alleged suspect, he claimed that the assault was unprovoked. He said that he was never close to the child.

The man had facial injuries, which did not require medical care. The victim further told police that he knew William who assaulted him during a previous incident between them.

Police reviewed surveillance video and saw that the victim was sitting outside Dari Mart when Brady walked over and kicked the victim in the face for no apparent reason.

William, his wife and Howlett were arrested for initiating a false report. Brady was also charge with assault.
