The New York Police Department said that 37-year-old Eric Roman of Brooklyn, is facing multiple charges, including reckless endangerment and driving while impaired by drugs.

According to the police investigation, on Thursday, Roman was driving his Lexus on Ocean Parkway, when he passed out from a drug overdose.

Luckily, his 7-year-old daughter was in the car and she came to his rescue. The little car hopped into her father’s lap and steered the car.

A nearby ambulance noticed the young girl driving and moved into the path of the Lexus to stop it before reaching the busy Belt Parkway.

The emergency medical technicians rushed over to the Lexus to help. Police officers who arrived at the scene, administered two doses of Naloxone, which helped revive Roman.

He was taken to the Coney Island Hospital, where he is currently recovering.

Roman will face a judge after being released from the hospital.

The girl told police that she was in the back seat of the Lexus, when she noticed her father falling asleep.

The girl then unbuckled her seat belt, jumped to the front and took control of the wheel.
