A husband brutally murdered his pregnant wife and left her lying on the floor blood because she did not bake him the perfect bread, according to police in India.

New Delhi police said that they are looking to arrest the husband on a charge of murder after being accused of kicking his pregnant wife’s stomach and strangling her.

According to the police investigation, the 22-year-old woman identified as Simran, met her husband 5 years ago. After dating for about a year, the two got married.

Simran had a girl when she was 18 years old. Recently, she became pregnant. The 4-year-old girl told police that her parents often fought about the shape of her mother’s chapatis.

Chapati, also known as roti, safati, shabaati and roshi, is an unleavened flatbread in a rounded shape.

On Saturday night, at around 10:30 p.m., Simran baked the bread. When she took them out of the oven, the husband noticed that they were not perfectly round.

The couple began arguing, and the husband then kicked his pregnant wife in the stomach. He then dragged her into a room, where he strangled her in front of his 4-year-old daughter.

The husband then fled from the scene.

On Sunday, at around 4:00 a.m., Simran’s brother called police to report that his sister was lying unconscious on the bedroom floor.

Simran was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead.
