A married man was embarrassed after two people caught him performing sex acts on himself while waiting for his wife at a supermarket, according to police in the United Kingdom.

Sussex police said that they have arrested 51-year-old Timothy McTighe, after being accused of pleasuring himself in public.

McTighe pleaded guilty to one count of outraging public decency at the Brighton Magistrates Court.

He was sentenced to complete 20 sessions of rehabilitation and was ordered to pay 85 pounds ($110) in court costs.

According to the police investigation, McTighe took his wife and dog to an Asda supermarket.

McTighe and the dog stayed behind in the Ford Focus, while his wife went into the supermarket to shop for groceries.

McTighe's defense attorney told the court that his client felt tingling in his leg and began to rub it to increase blood circulation.

He then moved on to perform a sex act on himself. McTighe claimed that he did not know anyone could see him, but two people witnessed the act and called police.
