(Scroll down for video) Police in China, are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of a motorcyclist.

Investigators released a photo of the wanted man, and they offered a 2,000 yuan ($300) reward for information about the man who ran over a young boy and dumped him in a pile of garbage.

Witnesses told police that the motorcyclist hit the boy outside a market in Chengdu, on a rainy morning.

The 5-year-old boy’s left leg was crushed by the tires of the motorcycle. The boy was bloody while lying on the road and was crying for his mother.

The boy claimed that his mother worked in a store in the market, but witnesses were unable to locate her.

After 10 minutes of searching for the parents, the motorcyclist said he would take the child to the hospital. Witnesses believed him and allowed him to leave with the child.

However, two miles away, people spotted the motorcyclist trying to push the boy into a garbage can. The garbage can was too full so he threw the boy into a pile of trash.

People called police and an ambulance, but the suspect escaped before officers arrived.

Emergency workers treated the boy and transported him to a hospital for further treatment.

Police were eventually able to contact the boy’s father, who was in Qinghai province at the time. The father then called the boy’s mother, who had been busy with the grand opening of her new shop in the market.

The woman’s store is only about 50 yards from where her son was run over by the motorcyclist.

Doctors found that the 5-year-old’s left leg had fractured during the accident, and he received several scratches and bruises.
