A herd of sheep in France, lost their lives while trying to escape from an attacking bear.

The 210 sheep, which were found dead, belonged to a farmer in Couflens.

The incident unfolded on Sunday, when a black bear appeared and attacked one of the sheep in the herd. The herd of 210 sheep panicked, and began running away.

They reached the cliff of the mountain, which borders Lladorre, Spain, and jumped. 169 sheep were found dead at the foot of the mountain, while the remaining carcasses were found nearby.

One of the dead sheep had bear fur on its body, indicating that the bear was responsible for the deaths. The farmer will be compensated for the huge loss.

Farmers in the area expressed their anger with the government’s decision to reintroduce bears in the region after they were wiped out by hunters.

They said that wild predators have no place in a region densely populated by grazing sheep.
