A woman panicked and called for help after finding a large plastic spider, which she mistook for a real one, in her closet, according to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) in the United Kingdom.

The incident unfolded this week in a house in Hampshire.

The female homeowner, who was not identified, opened the kitchen closet and saw a giant spider the size of her hand. She panicked and quickly shut the doors.

The woman immediately called the RSPCA, and asked for someone to remove the giant spider form her home.

Inspector Nikki Denham responded to the scene with the necessary equipment to remove the spider.

However, when Denham pointed her flashlight at the spider, she realized it was nothing more than a child's toy.

Denham pulled out the plastic spider from the closet and showed it to the woman's son, who confirmed that it was his toy.

The woman was obviously embarrassed, Denham said.
