(Scroll down for video) A jilted groom took out his anger on random cars after his bride called off their wedding.

Police said that a Texas man who was set to get married on July 8, in New York, burned eight cars after the wedding was canceled.

Officers responded to reports of several burning vehicles in Plattsburgh, about 20 miles south of the Canadian border in the early morning of July 9.

Two cars were totaled and six others suffered damage when they was set on fire during the night.

Police reviewed surveillance video on the street before focusing in on 35-year-old Jimmy Williams as the suspect. He was tracked down in the Houston area and arrested.

Williams was extradited to Plattsburgh, where he was charged with eight counts of arson. He is being held in jail on $50,000 bail.

Lt. Scott Beebie with the Plattsburgh Police Department said that Williams lived and worked in New York, while preparing to marry his fiancee. The couple had reportedly been engaged for two years.

Beebie said that Williams lived close to where the burned cars were found. He was on his way home when he allegedly took his anger out on the cars just before he reached his residence.

Beebie said that alcohol may have played a role in the incident.

The bride did not publicly disclose the reason for canceling the wedding.
