A man will be in prison for the rest of his life after he brutally killed his mother and brothers to keep secrets from his fiancee.

The man of Toronto , Canada, admitted to killing his mother and two of his brothers with a crossbow for fear of losing his girlfriend one month before their wedding.

35-year-old Brett Ryan pleaded guilty to first-degree murder of his older brother Christopher, 42, and two counts of second-degree murder of his mother, 66-year-old Susan, and younger brother, Alexander, 29.

He also pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of his older brother Leigh, who survived the attack.

Ryan killed his family after getting into an argument with his mother over secrets he was keeping from his fiancee.

Ryan was fired from his job in June 2016, two months before the murders. He was terminated when his employer discovered he had a past criminal record.

Ryan spent 3 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to eight bank robberies in 2009.

However, he lied to his fiancee about his education. He claimed that he graduated from university, and he was working as a physiotherapist.

However, the fact was that he had dropped out of school and he was fired from his IT job after keeping his criminal history a secret from his employer.

Susan had been supporting her son financially and she was upset when she learned that he was lying to his fiancee about his employment.

Ryan’s mother urged him to tell his fiancee the truth before their wedding, which was set to take place the following month.

She assured him that she would continue to support him temporarily if he came clean to his fiancee and found a job.

Ryan refused to tell the bride-to-be the truth and he got into an argument with his mother over the issue. He then shot and killed his mother with the crossbow.

When his brothers came to rescue their mother, he shot them as well. Two of his brothers died at the scene, while the third survived.

Ryan was sentenced to life in prison. He will not be eligible for parole for 25 years.
