A man broke the trust that was put in him when he was hired as a security guard.
Larry Brooks was hired as a security officer for Garda, a cash vault and armored car company in New Jersey.
Instead of keeping the money safe and making sure no one steals it, Brooks helped himself to the cash.
Police were called after $100,000 went missing from a business on the first day of Brooks’ job.
Fairfield police arrested 19-year-old Larry Brooks of Elizabeth, after surveillance video showed him taking the money.
During their investigation, officers recovered some of the money. Township police Chief Anthony Manna said that officers found $85,900 in a car parked in Elizabeth.
They don’t know what happened to the rest of the money.
