Woman in San Francisco loses her eyesight after passerby splashes her with bleach

A woman was rushed to a hospital in California, after being splashed with bleach by a passerby.

The woman was sitting on a sidewalk in the South of Market neighborhood in San Francisco, when she was attacked.

San Francisco police detectives said that the 57-year-old woman was sitting on the sidewalk in the first block of Mason Street, around 7:30 p.m., on Sunday, when the attack occurred.

She was taken to the hospital with what police described as life-threatening injuries. They also confirmed that the woman was left blind due to the bleach getting into her eyes.

Police have not released a description of the suspect. They only described him as a man between 20 and 25 years old. They did not give an a reason or motive for the attack either.
