(Scroll down for video) Two professors turned themselves in to police in California, after being on the run for a week.

Police searched for the men after 26-year-old Trenton James Cornell-Duranleau, was stabbed to death in the home of professor Wyndham Lathem, 42, in Chicago, Illinois.

Lathem was a professor at Northwestern University.

Police said that Cornell-Duranleau, who worked as a hairdresser, was in a relationship with the professor.

Officers found two bloody knives in the home. The blade of one of them broke during the violent stabbing.

The second professor, Andrew “Andy” Warren, 56, worked as a senior treasury assistant at Somerville College, which is a part of the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

Warren arrived in the United States, just three days before the murder. Detectives are still trying to figure out if Warren knew the victim.

Warren has been in a relationship with his boyfriend, Martin Grant, 44, for over 6 years. Grant and Warren’s sister had been desperately looking for him as he never told them he was flying to the United States.
