Parents in Minnesota, are heartbroken over the loss of their 11-month-old son who was killed during a house fire.

Bentley Joe Lewis Koski died in the fire at his home in Torre, after being left alone by a babysitter who abandoned him to buy drugs.

Firefighters were called to the home at 7:30 a.m., after neighbors saw flames and smoke coming from of the family’s windows.

Firefighters found the 11-month-old baby dead in his crib.

Police soon learned that the baby was left in the care of his uncle, 24-year-old Jesse Lee Bonacci-Koski, while his brother, Cody Koski, and sister-in-law, Krista Swanson, were away for the night.

However, the uncle left the baby home alone for two hours as he went to buy methamphetamine.

After getting his drugs, Bonacci-Koski returned to the house. When he saw all the firefighters, he fled in a stolen SUV.

Bonacci-Koski was later arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter, auto theft and possession of methamphetamine.

Bonacci-Koski is no stranger to police. His criminal history includes convictions for assault, drunken driving, drug possession and disorderly conduct.

The fire was ruled accidental. Swanson took to Facebook to express her anguish over the loss of her son.

She wrote: “I miss you so much my lil man. Words can’t express how lost and empty I feel without you here with us.

“Life just seems to have no meaning anymore, and getting up without you seems like more of a chore than a blessing like it used to be.

“Me and Daddy love you always and you will never leave our thoughts and hearts. XOXOXOXO our lil Man, Boo, Jr.,”

Bonacci-Koski is being held on $200,000 bail.
