A woman’s life was turned upside down when she decided to check her husband’s cell phone after he accidentally left it at home while he was out working.

Prosecutor Mark Giuliani of the United Kingdom, told the Newcastle Crown Court that the woman found an app called Video Locker on her husband’s phone.

Initially, she was unable to access to it, which made her suspicious. After some time, the woman managed to access the content and was horrified by what she found.

Giuliani said that the videos showed the husband having sex with his wife while she was sleeping.

The court heard that the videos ranged in length from 30 seconds to two minutes, and each showed the man raping or sexually abusing his sleeping wife on different occasions.

The court heard that the videos had been recorded while the victim slept in their marital bed sometimes after drinking alcohol.

The couple has been together for more than 10 years and they have children together. The videos only show her being sexually abused since September 2016.

The court heard that the wife contact her husband after watching the videos and told him: “I just watched videos of you raping me on your phone.”

The husband never returned home. Instead, he turned himself in to police.

In a plea deal with prosecutors, the 30-year-old husband pleaded guilty to three counts of rape, one count of assault by penetration, one count of attempted rape and one count of sexual assault.

He was sentenced to 9 years in prison and he must register as a sex offender for life.

In a statement, the traumatized victim said that she struggled to come to terms with what her husband had done. “I never thought he would be capable of doing what he did,” she said.
