A police officer in Japan, is in trouble after he walked into a police station to retrieve his bag of drugs.

Fukuoka Prefectural Police arrested one of their own for possession of marijuana.

The incident began when someone spotted an unattended bag on the JR Kagoshima train. The bag was turned over to staff members at the Kurume station.

The staff looked into the bag and found a substance that looked like cannabis. The staff members got in touch with the Kurume police department, and officers took possession of the bag.

That same night, 42-year-old police officer Akiyoshi Sato, called the police station, searching for the bag.

After hearing that his colleagues had it, Sato went to pick it up. When Sato arrived, he was arrested.

Sato was charged with possessing about 4.4 grams of marijuana. Sato protested the arrest and said that he “did not know it was marijuana.”

Prior to his arrest, Sato worked in the police evidence room that handed various evidence from suspects including confiscated drugs.
