(Scroll down for video) A man claimed that he wanted to “clean up bank fraud” by stuffing a dead cat into a bank deposit box, according to police in Wisconsin.
Stevens Point police said that they have arrested 37-year-old Justin Doppsmith, after being accused of vandalizing a bank deposit box.
Doppsmith has been charged with disorderly conduct, bail jumping, resisting an officer, arson and discharging bodily fluids.
He was booked into jail, and his bail has been set at $1,500. If convicted, Doppsmith faces up to 10 years in prison.
According to the police investigation, an employee of the Associated Bank on Main Street, found a dead cat inside a bank deposit box.
The employee also found a loaf of bread, and a $1 bill tied to a rock. The employee called police, and they spotted the suspect on the bank’s surveillance video footage.
Officers located Doppsmith on the street, and took him into custody. While being detained, Doppsmith spit at an officer.
During questioning, Doppsmith told police that he deposited the dead cat in the bank because wanted to cleanse the bank of fraud.
In another incident, Doppsmith was accused of setting a tree on fire outside the Salvation Army Hope Center.
