(Scroll down for video) Police are trying to figure out what happened that led an Uber driver to kill his passenger.

56-year-old Terry Lynn Kimball of Florida, called an Uber before 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

38-year-old Kavir O’Farril Diaz arrived and began driving Kimball to his location. As some point, the two got into an argument over the directions and route the driver was taking.

Diaz told police that his passenger was unruly so he pulled over at the Quick Pick convenience store in St. Petersburg.

The two got out of the vehicle and a fight broke out. Diaz punched his passenger one time. Kimball fell unconscious and suffered severe head injuries.

Police took surveillance videos of the area. They do not show Diaz punching Kimball, but the two can be seen getting out of the vehicle before the incident.

Witnesses told police that Kimball seemed to be the aggressor. Diaz, who said that he acted in self defense, was not arrested so far.

According to police, Diaz does not have a criminal history while Kimball has a history of arrests, including DUI, disorderly intoxication and simple assault.
