Man is arrested for setting his own scooter on fire because he was angry

A man in Florida, lost his scooter when he set it on fire in a fit of rage.

However, he also lost his freedom when he was arrested for his actions.

35-year-old Chance Richie was drunk and angry with his scooter so he set it on fire, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies who responded to a call of vehicles on fire, saw a Taizhou motor scooter burning in the 8600 block of Blind Pass Road in St. Pete Beach. The fire destroyed the bike and caused minor damage to two cars that were parked next to it.

Firefighters were called to put out the blaze.

According to the sheriff’s office, Richie, who “appeared intoxicated,” told the officers he had crashed the scooter somewhere, and “he got mad at it and set it on fire.”

Richie was found to be in possession of drugs. He was arrested on charges of arson and for violating his probation by possessing cocaine.
