(Scroll down for video) Two teenagers thought it would be funny to place a baby in a refrigerator and record the abuse, according to police in Massachusetts.

Danvers police said that they have arrested the two female babysitters, who were not identified because they are minors, after being accused of placing the 8-month-old child in the refrigerator and laughing about it.

The two girls have been charged with one count each of child endangerment, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The two suspects appeared for a judge in juvenile court, and they were released from custody to their parents.

According to the police investigation, the parents of the 8-month-old baby hired the two girls to babysit their child on Monday.

At some point, the girls recorded a Snapchat video, showing them placing the crying baby into the refrigerator. The baby was heard crying while the two girls were laughing.

Someone forwarded the video to the police, and they arrested the girls. The girls were 15 and 14 years old at the time of their arrests.

The baby was not injured. The mother of the baby is angry with the babysitters, but told police that the girls did not intent to harm her child.

One of the girls is the mother’s niece.
