Walgreens worker pulls man off of 50-year-old woman he was trying to rape in store bathroom

(Scroll down for video) A Walgreens employee is hailed a hero for rescuing a woman while a man was trying to rape her.

Police in New York, have tracked down and arrested the man who attempted to rape the woman in the bathroom of a Walgreens drug store in the Bronx.

The man was unsuccessful after he was interrupted by the employee who intervened.

Police said that they had arrested 28-year-old Victor Augustus, who is homeless.

He was charged with attempted rape, sex abuse, forcible touching, assault and harassment.

According to police, Augustus approached the 50-year-old victim as she left the bathroom at 3:40 p.m. He pushed her back inside and threw her to the ground.

Augustus covered the victim’s mouth as she screamed loudly and tried to remove the woman’s pants. The Walgreens employee who heard the woman’s cry for help, hurried inside.

She pulled the man off from the woman. Augustus then ran out of the store.
