(Scroll down for video) A woman who resigned from her longtime job as a Florida police officer, was arrested twice for impersonating police officers.
46-year-old Martha Aleman worked for the Miami-Dade Police Department for 14 years. She loved her job, but she resigned in January 2016.
Officials did not disclose the reason for her resignation. However, Aleman did not stop flashing her badge after her resignation.
Now, the former Miami-Dade police officer was arrested on charges of impersonating a police officer for the second time.
According to an arrest report, a mother who was concerned about her 21-year-old daughter’s online activity, was referred to Aleman by a mechanic.
Alman told the mother that she served as an undercover cyber crime and terrorism task force officer and offered her help for $300.
The victim told the police that Aleman brought along her sister, Silvia Trana, to her home. Alman claimed that Trana was a psychologist.
The victim’s daughter also met Alman’s sister and paid her $300 at the end of a two-hour “counseling session.”
The victim told authorities that she looked up Aleman online and discovered that she had been arrested by the Miami City Police Department for posing as a police officer.
In that case, police said Aleman got into a road rage incident with a man. She followed the man to a gas station and flashed her badge at the driver, and told him she was a police officer.
Police said they arrived on the scene and Aleman again identified herself as an officer.
Officials said Aleman refused to show her identification to officers so they called the county to verify her claims. When they learned that she resigned last year, Aleman was arrested.
