Female thrift shop employee beats wanna-be robber with his own gun

(Scroll down for video) A woman managed to wrestle a gun away from a wanna-be robber and she beat him with it.

Police in New York, have arrested 45-year-old Ronald J. Kelly, on charges of first-degree robbery and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

According to the Suffolk County Police Department, Kelly entered the Island Thrift store, carrying the gun at around 8:30 p.m., on Saturday.

He walked over to a female employee and demanded that she hand over the money from the cash register. He pointed a gun at her.

The woman managed to wrestle the gun away from him. Store manager Rich Rodriguez said that the woman “grabbed the weapon and hit Kelly in the face with the butt of the gun.”

The male employees saw the scuffle and came to her aid. The workers managed to get him down to the ground and held him
until police arrived.

Kelly was taken to Stony Brook Hospital, where he was treated for cuts and bruises, which can be seen in his mugshot.
