A grandfather endangered his life in order to impress his grandchildren, but they were not happy with him at all.

The 70-year-old daredevil grandfather jumped into the crocodile infested river in Australia, in an attempt to impress his 14 grandchildren.

The man asked his wife to quickly take a photo as he entered the water to send his grandchildren.

However, the grandfather, who did not want to be named, said that his antics were not as welcome as he hoped.

In the photo that has been shared online, the grandfather is seen standing in close proximity to a crocodile trap.

The elderly man said that he hoped to be a hero in the eyes of his grandchildren. He said that he thought his grandchildren would say “wow, look at Grandpa,” but instead, he said: “I think they thought, ‘how silly is old Grandpa, he’s lost it.'”

Though he admitted it was reckless and he was a bit nervous before he did it, the grandfather does not believe he endangered his life by going for a quick swim in order to get a good photo.

The grandfather said that he and others looked around and made sure there were no crocodiles before jumping in.

If one is lucky enough to get out alive, they can face punishment. Interfering with a crocodile trap can lead to a $70,000 fine and six months in jail, according to NT News.
