(Scroll down for video) The father of a young man who was convicted of raping a teenage girl, was shot dead after shooting a judge.

The father of Ohio, was outside the courthouse, waiting for Jefferson County Judge Joseph Bruzzese Jr., to arrive.

When the 65-year-old judge walked towards the courthouse at around 8:00 a.m., he was shot. A probation officer returned fire and killed the suspect.

A second man who was waiting inside the supsect’s car, was arrested.

Judge Bruzzese was airlifted to a hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.

Police identified the suspect as 51-year-old Nathaniel Richmond, who is the father of football player Ma’lik Richmond.

Ma’lik was convicted in the 2013, for raping a 16-year-old girl at a party while she was unconscious.

He also took nude photos of her and shared them with other players. Ma’lik was released after serving one year in a juvenile detention center.

Many people signed a petition to stop Richmond from playing after his release from prison.

Less than two weeks ago, Ma’lik was told that he will not be allowed to play football this season.

The university had issued a statement saying: “Youngstown State University takes the matter of sexual assault very seriously and continues to educate everyone within the campus community about the impact and prevention of sexual assault.”

This may have angered the father, but authorities said that the victim was not the judge in his son’s rape case.

In an effort to keep the case impartial, Judge Thomas Lipps was brought in from the Cincinnati area to handle the case and the sentencing.

The investigation is ongoing.
