A mother of three children in Spain, was cut in half in a hospital elevator moments after giving birth to her third child.

25-year-old Rocio Cortes Nunez of Seville, checked herself into the Valme Hospital for a scheduled Cesarean section delivery.

Doctors successfully delivered the baby girl named Triana, on Sunday, at around 11:00 a.m.

Nunez was then sent to recovery, while Triana was taken to the Virgen del Rocio Hospital, to be treated for a heart condition.

Virgen del Rocio Hospital doctors said that Triana was responding well to the treatment. Meanwhile, Nunez was taken from the second to the third floor of the Valme Hospital.

After Nunez was wheeled into the elevator, a hospital worker realized that the elevator was now working.

The employee got out of the elevator, and when she began to pull out Nunez, who was lying on a stretcher, the elevator began to move up.

The elevator then cut Nunez in half in front of the horrified hospital employee and the baby girl’s father.

Firefighters who responded to the scene, worked two hours to remove Nunez’s body from the elevator.

Nunez left behind her brokenhearted husband, Jose Gaspar, and three children, Carmen, 5, Rocio, 4 and Triana. The family filed a lawsuit against the Valme Hospital for negligence.
