Bride and groom dressed in gown and tuxedo arrested after fighting in bar after wedding

A bride and groom spent their first night of marriage in handcuffs.

Police were called to a bar in Edmonton, Canada, after the bride and groom got too drunk and she assaulted someone.

Witnesses said that the newly married couple and about seven members of their wedding party walked into the bar at around 10:00 p.m.

They were all drinking when someone from the wedding party “made physical contact with a staff member and punched a window,” according to a witnesses.

Security guards from the bar stepped in, and things escalated.
The people of the wedding party went down a flight of stairs. A security guard had one man in a headlock, and as they went down, they both tumbled down the stairs.

One witness said that “the bride was just like following behind, just swinging.”

Police were called and they questioned people at the bar before placing the bride and groom in handcuffs. People took photos and videos of the bride standing in her white wedding gown with her handcuffed hands behind her back.

The groom was also seen wearing his tuxedo while his he was handcuffed.

Edmonton police said that the bride, 36, was charged with assault while the groom, 37, was charged with mischief.

The bride and groom each have previous brushes with the law, according to court records. Police wrote them a desk appearance and they were allowed to leave the bar together.
