A group of men in the United Kingdom, who wanted to donate cash to a public hospital, were shocked when officials refused to accept their donations because of their choice of dress.

The group of men collected money for the Ludlow Hospital in Shropshire.

They raised about $3,000 and were set to purchase new ECG machines.

The group then organized a party, at which the donors dressed as female nurses.

Officials of the hospital were offended by the dresses, calling it demeaning and offensive.

In a letter to the group sent by Jan Ditheridge, who is the chief executive of Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust, she made it clear that the hospital would not accept to the donations from men who dressed in a highly sexualized manner, which is an insult to the nursing profession.

The organizer of the event, apologized, saying that the men did not intend to offend anyone.
