(Scroll down for video) A young man was shocked to learn that there was a warrant out for his arrest as he was never in trouble with the law.

Ruben Eugene Delany Jr., of Oklahoma, who is an upstanding citizen, was concerned what would happen to his wife, his children and his job if he gets arrested.

Delany Jr., decided to turn himself in to police in order to discover why he was wanted. To his surprise, the young man discovered that he was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender.

Delany Jr., realized that his father, who was convicted of raping a child under 17-years-old, registered in his name.

The father was able to get away with it because his name is similar to that of his son. “My father’s name is Ruben Eugene Delany. I’m Ruben Ryan Delany, at some point, he decided to use my name,” Delany Jr., said.

Because the father is a level three offender, he must register every 90 days. When he failed to register, police put a warrant out for his arrest.

Police immediately corrected the paperwork. Several days later, Delany Jr., told police that he saw a video, showing his father on a missionary trip in Nepal.

In the video, the registered sex offender was seen around a group of children. As soon as Delany Sr., arrived at the airport, he was arrested.
