(Scroll down for video) A mother abandoned her two children outside of a bar, where she drank for several hours, ignoring her kids who were in distress, according to police in Florida.

Orlando police said that they have arrested 28-year-old Larissa Rivera, after admitting to leaving her children alone in a running car while she drank at the bar.

Rivera has been charged with two counts of leaving a child unsupervised in a motor vehicle.

She was booked into the Orange County Jail, pending a bail hearing.

According to the police investigation, on Sunday, Rivera and her two children, aged 5 and 3, went to the Butikin Bar, which is located at 6400 International Drive.

Rivera left her two children in the back seat of the car while she drank at the bar.

At around 10:15 p.m., a concerned woman called police to report that two young children were alone inside a Ford Focus outside the bar while their mother was drunk.

Police officers who arrived at the scene, found a 5-year-old girl crying in the back seat of the car.

Her 3-year-old brother was sleeping.

Both children were very hot and sweating.

The air conditioner was turned off, and there was no food or water in the car.

Rivera ran out of the bar and admitted that she left the children in the car while she ate dinner at the bar.

Rivera claimed that the employees of the bar regularly checked on the children as she was a good customer and regularly came with the kids.

Police said that it felt like 88 degrees at the time the children were found.

The children were not injured.
