(Scroll down for video) A doctor sees himself as a hero for helping women kick their heroin addiction despite doing so in exchange for forcefully having sex with them.

68-year-old Dr. Haridas Dasani of Toledo, Ohio, told a court that he was helping the community by making sure that women were kicking their heroin addiction.

However, the women told police that Dr. Dasani sexually abused and raped them when they went to him to get drugs, which they needed in order to kick their heroin addiction.

After receiving complaints from several women, police arrested the doctor.

Dasani, who has been a physician for 42 years, was charged with 55 counts of rape and 27 counts of gross sexual imposition.

However, in a surprising plea deal, prosecutors dropped many of those counts.

Dr. Dasani pleaded guilty to three counts of gross sexual imposition, and he was allowed to walk out of court without serving any prison time.

Judge Linda Jennings told Dasani: “I reluctantly agreed to that because I think you should be going to prison today.”

Along with his guilty plea, Dasani agreed to surrender his medical license.

He will register as a sex offender, perform 2,000 hours of community service, wear an ankle monitor and he was placed on probation for five years.
