Parents who allowed a sex offender to have access to their young daughter were contacted by police who informed them that she was being sexually violated.

34-year-old Shawn Bunnell of Utica, New York, was arrested after being accused of sexually exploiting the girl to produce child pornography.

Bunnell is facing felony charges for uploading lewd photos of the 2-year-old girl through a Google server.

Google alerted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Authorities then tracked the IP address to Bunnell.

Police then obtained a search warrant at his home.

According to court documents, police found Bunnell wearing what appeared to be the same bracelet that the adult was wearing in the photos provided by Google.

When speaking with the victim’s parents, they told police that Bunnell recently had access to their 2-year-old daughter.

Investigators noted that the bathroom tiles in the girl’s house appeared to be the same as those depicted in the graphic photos, according to court documents.

In an interview with detectives, Bunnell admitted to taking the graphic photos of the girl, according to police.

Magistrate Judge Therese Wiley Dancks ordered Bunnell held in jail without bail due to his prior conviction.

In 2003, Bunnell was found guilty of sexually abusing a boy under the age of 11.

Bunnell is facing up to 50 years in prison on the most recent charges.

He faces an additional mandatory 10-year prison sentence for violating his conditions as a registered sex offender.
