(Scroll down for video) A bride and groom, who celebrated their wedding with a swim in the lake, drowned, according to video uploaded to the internet.

The tragedy occurred in Yemen, and it was all caught on camera. The newly married couple went to swim in a lake located in the scenic northern part of the country, and set up a camera to record their excursion. However, the couple did not realize that the lake was deeper than they initially thought, and the camera recorded them drowning to death.

The incident took place in Kmaran. On the video, we can see the groom setting up the camera near the lake, turning it on and going into the lake to join his new wife. The two, who apparently did not know how to swim, drowned while the camera kept recording.

After a few hours, passerby, who found the working camera near the lake, wondered what the camera was doing there unattended. They searched the camera to see the last clip recorded. The passerby were shocked to see how the couple drowned in the lake. The video, which recorded the last moments of the bride and groom, was uploaded to the internet and became a viral sensation in Muslim countries.

“Obviously this man wasn’t from the region. People in the region know to stay out of this lake as there is some type of lake snake in there which preys on people swimming in the lake. This is truly tragic,” Ibrahim Mossi, 20, of Sanaa, Yemen told YourJewishNews.com after watching the video.

The man was identified as 22-year-old Haitham Mohammed Daen, while his 17-year-old bride was not named.
