Tokyo police said that they have arrested 52-year-old Makoto Oya, after being accused of killing at least 13 cats.

Oya has been charged with animal cruelty.

According to the police investigation, Oya caught stray cats in his neighborhood.

He then used a gas powered blow torch to kill them.

Oya uploaded three video on the Internet.

A concerned citizen forwarded the videos to the police and Oya was arrested.

During questioning by police, Oya admitted to killing the cats because they are harmful animals.

He complained that the cats’ urine and excrement stink and they have sharp nails, which they use to attack and injure others.

Oya claimed that he had the right to exterminate harmful animals, calling his actions pest extermination, which is not against the law.
