Man breaks into priest’s home to wash his clothes

A man who wanted to wash his clothes, broke into the home of a priest and used his washing machine, according to police in New York.

The Suffolk County Police Department said that they have arrested 37-year-old Philip Magalhaes, after the priest walked into his home and found the suspect doing laundry.

Magalhaes has been charged with criminal trespass.

According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Monday, at around 8:00 p.m.

The priest of the Holy Cross Church, who was not identified, went into his home at 85 Old Nichols Road, only to find Magalhaes at his washing machine doing laundry.

When Magalhaes saw the priest, he fled from the scene.

Magalhaes accidentally left his wallet behind in the home.

The priest called police and Magalhaes was arrested nearby.
