(Scroll down for video) Two armed men managed to rob a bar, but they were not able to get away as police officers who were partying there at the time, quickly caught them.

According to police in Maryland, the two men were arrested after they robbed the Monaghan’s Pub in Woodlawn, while off-duty officers were there for a retirement party.

The men walked up to the counter at the take-out section of the bar, and demanded cash from the register.

They did get some money and they fled. The employee ran into the room where the officers were partying, and informed them about the robbery.

The officers quickly sprang into action, ran after the suspects and apprehended them.

Police arrested 21-year-old Joseph McInnis III, 21, and Tyree McCoy, 22. They are facing charges that include armed robbery and possession of a handgun.

They are both being held without bond.

The bar owner said that it was strange that the suspects carried out the robbery at his bar as it is across the street from a police station.

He explained that officers are regular customers of the eatery and that there are many squad cars and police outside the precinct.

The officers were at the bar to honor longtime officer David Neral, who has been with the department since 1988.
