(Scroll down for video) Numerous people in New York, were surprised to see a cow running loose in the streets, so they called police, according to police in Long Island.

Medford police said that the cow was first seen in the streets on Thursday, at around 9:00 p.m.

Police officers who arrived at the scene, attempted to catch the cow, but the animal managed to escape.

On Friday, at around 11:30 a.m., the cow was spotted Woodside and Tremont avenues.

The owner of the cow lives on Syracuse Avenue.

He reported his cow missing, but did not say why he keeps the animal on his property.

Police officers cornered the animal in an abandoned property in order to capture it.

However, the cow rammed a police cruiser and caused damage to the right side doors.

The wild animal also broke one of the police cruiser’s mirrors.

The officer who drove the police cruiser, was not injured.

Eventually, police were able to tranquilize the cow, and it was returned to its owner.

The cow was reported to be in good health.
