A mother was furious when she learned that a family friend raped her daughter.

41-year-old Connie Serbu of Florida, a mother of two children, learned that her daughter had been sexually abused when she was 6 years old.

She recruited her brother, John Vargas, 29, of the Bronx, New York, to help carry out a revenge attack by killing the teen.

According to family members, Vargas had mental limitations and he was easily persuaded to go along with the plan.

Serbu lured 18-year-old Xavier Sierra to a secluded area in Naples, with a promise to pay him for putting together some furniture.

While he was in her car, Serbu brought up the sexual assault. The teenager reacted by jumping out of her car, and he ran away.

The mother’s brother ran after him and he managed to catch the teenager. Vargas, who was armed with a gun, shot the teen. The victim managed to point the gun at Vargas and he was shot once in the abdomen.

Both men were found dead at the scene. Police began investigating their deaths on July 7, 2016. However, it was not until now that they arrested Serbu after they were able to collect enough evidence that proved she was behind the murder.

According to the police report, Serbu initially confesses that it was all her fault and she said that she didn’t want her brother to get in trouble over the teen’s death.

She was informed that her brother will not be charged as he also died.

The mother, who had been in an on again off again relationship with her children’s father since 2004, lost custody of her two children to her estranged husband in the weeks after the shootout.

Serbu has now been charged with second-degree murder.
