(Scroll down for video) A man who was wanted by police for some time, was arrested after stabbing the people who helped him hide from authorities.

Now, the man who was identified by police as 46-year-old Pedro Vega Jr., of Florida, was found dead as he committed suicide by hanging in his jail cell.

This marks the end of a long life of crime by Vega.

Police were called after Vega broke the window to his ex-wife’s house in Davenport, and shot at people inside. Someone returned fire, causing Vega to flee.

When police arrived to the home, they found a trail of blood, which led them to 2 more homes where Vega committed crimes.

Police learned that Vega, who lived at his father’s home, brutally stabbed his father, 70-year-old Pedro Vega Sr., 23 times and left him to die.

His father survived and is recovering at a hospital. Police then went to another home in the area and found the suspect’s aunt,
59-year-old Rosa Iris Vega, dead from multiple stab wounds.

After a long search for the suspect, an officer found him bleeding in his father’s truck, and he was arrested. Vega was later found dead in his jail cell.

Vega was found with a sheet around his neck. Vega had previously spent 13 years in prison for sexual battery.
