(Scroll down for video) Prisoners and police were equally surprised watching a prison break in, according to photos that were uploaded to the Internet by police in Colorado.

La Plata County Sheriff’s Office said that on Tuesday, a black bear jumped over a fence and broke into the prison facility.

The La Plata County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Twitter: “There was a jail break-in on Tuesday, as a bear scaled a gate into a secure area. The bear eluded deputies by climbing up a tree and fled on foot. The bear exercised right to bear arms.”

La Plata County Sheriff’s Office added several photos of the break in on Facebook and wrote: “Just can’t bear crime. A bear was spotted on our security cameras climbing over some security fencing on the north west side of our jail. A little added security to a gate outside of our jail doors never hurts.”

The bear was not injured during the break in at the La Plata County Jail.

Police said that they are not looking for the suspected burglar.
