81-year-old Sears security guard killed by thugs who wanted to get away with two TVs

(Scroll down for video) An Air Force veteran lost his life after thugs wanted to get away with two TVs worth less than $1,000.

81-year-old Duaine Hamilton of South Carolina, was brutally assaulted by men, who Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott called “punks.”

The men walked into a Sears store and took two 49-inch TVs. Instead of paying for the items, the two men walked out the door.

When Hamilton, who was a loss prevention officer for 13 years, tried to stop them from leaving, the two men threw him to the ground and fled.

Police arrested 58-year-old Jeffrey Simmons and 40-year-old Jason Randolph. Both were have been charged with murder and strong-arm robbery.

Both Simmons and Randolph have lengthy criminal records, including 17 arrests for shoplifting.

Hamilton left behind his wife of 60 years, his 6 children and some grandchildren.
