A woman was arrested for driving drunk after forgetting to logout of her Facebook account in a hotel in Michigan.

The incident began when officers found a two-car accident at 1:00 a.m.

The driver of a gray Chevrolet Malibu, left the vehicle and fled on foot.

Police located 25-year-old Dana Elizabeth Burleigh, who they believed to be the driver, in a nearby hotel. Burleigh had an expired Michigan driver’s license.

Police said that the woman admitted to being involved in an accident, but she denied driving the vehicle and did not reveal who was driving.

The receptionist told the officers that the woman admitted to driving the vehicle when she crashed after she had been drinking, police said.

However, they did not have sufficient proof to arrest the woman.

Officers were told that Burleigh had used the hotel’s computer when she arrived after the crash.

They checked the hotel computer and found the woman’s Facebook page, displaying a message that she sent to another person, stating that she was involved in an accident and was drunk, police said.

Police said the woman admitted drinking two hours before the accident. A preliminary breath test resulted in a blood alcohol content level of 0.12 percent, according to police.

Burleigh was charged with second-offense operating while intoxicated, failure to stop at the scene of a personal injury accident and operating without a valid license.

She is being held on $5,000 bond.
