All five victims will have to formally be identified through dental records.

According to police, three-time world champion of the Fitness and Bodybuilding category, Alejandra Rubio of Rosario, Argentina, was at the wheel of a car when she hit a truck, causing her vehicle to burst into flames.

The tragedy occurred near the town of Pinto, in Buenos Aires.

Rubio was in the car along with four other competing bodybuilders, who were identified as Elias Torres, Guadalupe David, Emanuel Villalba and Daniel Motivero.

They were traveling to compete in a tournament in Santiago del Estero. The car caught fire and all five instantly perished.

The driver of the truck, Luis Valdez, 38, and his passenger, suffered severe burns and were taken to a hospital.

Police and firefighters on the scene worked to free the charred bodies, causing the road to be blocked for hours.

Rubio had been the president of the Argentine Association of Fitness and Bodybuilding (AAFF) since 2013.
