A judge became angry and assaulted a Walmart employee during an argument over jewelry, according to police in Virginia.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office said that Rappahannock County Circuit Court judge Jeffrey W. Parker, 65, was charged with assault and battery.

He appeared before a judge, and was released without bail.

According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Tuesday, at around 6:30 p.m., at the Walmart located off U.S. 17.

Parker found jewelry in the parking lot of the store, and handed over the valuable items to a customer service agent.

The judge asked for a receipt in order to be able to take possession of the jewelry should the owner not claim them.

The clerk refused to give the judge a letter.

That is when Parker grab the arm of the customer service agent.

The customer service agent called police and told them that her hand hurt as a result of the assault.
