A woman shot a homeless man who was unhappy with the fumes that came out of her luxury vehicle.

The woman of Nashville, Tennessee, was charged with attempted murder for the shooting of the homeless man.

Authorities said that 54-year-old Gerald Melton, was seriously injured after he asked 26-year-old Katie Quackenbush, to move her Porsche.

Quackenbush, who is an aspiring country singer, was parked near Nashville's Music Row, when the incident occurred.

According to police, Melton was trying to sleep on the sidewalk at 3:00 a.m., but he was annoyed by exhaust fumes and loud music coming from the Porsche SUV. When he asked Quackenbush to move the vehicle, she refused.

The two got into a heated argument. Quackenbush then pulled out a gun, shot the man twice in the abdomen and drove away.

Melton remains in critical condition at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Quackenbush's father, Jesse, who is an attorney in Texas, issued a statement, saying that his daughter acted in self-defense.

He said that Melton had been standing, and was not sleeping before the argument, and he had threatened his daughter and another young woman who was with her.

He added that both rounds were intended as warning shots as Melton continued to approach the women.
