A woman who did not know she was pregnant, was arrested after giving birth to a baby at work.

25-year-old Sarah Lockner was working a night shift at McDonald’s in Redwood City, California, when she started feeling stomach pain.

She reportedly went to the bathroom before her boss told her she could leave early. This was around 10:00 p.m.

Lockner did not leave. Instead, she entered the bathroom and was there for some time. Her coworkers became concerned and went to check on her.

The two female employees found Lockner surrounded by a pool of blood and reportedly witnessed her giving birth to a baby.

Lockner then placed the baby head first into the toilet and flushed it, in a failed attempt to get rid of the child.

She asked her coworkers not to tell anyone what they saw. However, the coworkers immediately called for help.

Paramedics rushed to the scene, and although the baby did not breathe and had no pulse, they were able to resuscitate him.

The newborn baby boy was taken to the hospital. Luckily, the baby survived and is recovering. Doctors are not yet sure if the baby suffered brain damage.

Lockner was arrested on charges of attempted murder and child abuse.

She allegedly told police she and her boyfriend had no idea she was pregnant. Lockner is being held on bail of $11 million. If convicted, she could be sentenced to life in prison.

Child Protective Services are involved in the case.
