(Scroll down for video) A police officer had sex and sold drugs while getting paid to be on duty, according to police in Louisiana.

The Louisiana State Police said that they have arrested 42-year-old Kenneth Seth Thomas of Deville, who was a police officer with the Alexandria Police Department.

He was charged with malfeasance in office, distribution of a CDS I (controlled dangerous substance), and possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS I.

Last month, the Louisiana State Police received information regarding criminal activity involving Thomas.

With the assistance of the Alexandria Police Department and other law enforcement agencies, the Louisiana State Police launched an investigation into these accusations.

The investigation revealed that Thomas had engaged in illegal activities by having sex with at least one woman, while on duty, and distributing illegal drugs.

Based on information obtained, investigators were able to secure an arrest warrant for Thomas.

He was arrested and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

“Today marks an unfortunate event for the Alexandria Police Department. We, as law enforcement officers, have a duty to seek justice and expose the truth, even when it hurts us,” said Chief Neal Bates, Chief of Police for Alexandria Police Department.

“It hurts all of us when one of our own is accused of violating the trust that the public has in us, and we know we will have to strive harder than before to restore that trust.

“The officer has been placed on administrative leave, pending the investigation,” Bates added.
