A man laughed while police took a picture of him after dropping his pants in public and exposing himself to officers and children, according to police in Louisiana.

The Alexandria Police Department (APD) said that on Monday, at around 4:40 p.m., officers responded to the 2200 block of East Sycamore Drive, to a disturbance involving a weapon.

When police arrived, they encountered several witnesses who said that the suspect, Curtis Marks, 24, had a gun and had threatened everyone in the area.

According to statements given to officers, Marks had been in a verbal altercation with another man who was present.

Marks then allegedly left the area, but quickly returned with a gun, which he waved around and pointed at several people, including children.

Several people told officers this was typical behavior of Marks, who threatens and harasses people in the area regularly.

While police were speaking to witnesses, Marks emerged from behind one of the houses in the area, and approached the officers.

While approaching, Marks dropped his pants, exposed his genitals and put his hands up.

Officers gave several orders for Marks to pull his pants up, as several children were still around.

Marks eventually did pull his pants up, at which point he was taken into custody.

Marks was charged with disturbing the peace, aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and obscenity.

He was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

His bail has been set at $35,000.
