People were surprised to see a large amount of blood on a road outside a funeral home and reported it to authorities, according to the Department of Environmental Services in Louisiana.

A spokesperson for the City of Baton Rouge Department of Environmental Services said that an inspector was sent to the Greenoaks Funeral Home, which is located at 9595 Florida Blvd, to check the sewer system in the area.

The inspector confirmed that there were no problem with the city water or sewer system, and the blood did not cause a problem to public safety.

A spokesperson for the Greenoaks Funeral Home, said that one of their storage tanks leaked for about 20 minutes, causing the blood to run out in the road on Thursday afternoon.

The area was cleaned and disinfected.

No injuries have been reported.

People who saw the large amount of blood on the grass and road called police to report it.

The funeral has apologized to visitors who came across the gruesome site.
