A police officer who did not like the fact that he was rejected by the woman he loved, decided to kill her.

Constable Simon Njoroge Njau of Kenya, met 23-year-old Anne Wanjohi, three months ago.

The two began dating, and Njau quickly fell in love with her. However, the woman did not feel the same way.

According to witnesses, the officer went to see his girlfriend at an Internet cafe in Nairobi city center, where she worked.

The woman was busy with a customer and told Njau that he will have to wait until she was done. He left and returned later.

As his girlfriend was getting ready to leave, Njau proposed to her, but she turned him down.

According to her coworkers, Wanjohi did not want to marry Njai. Instead, she wanted to break up with him.

Njau did not take the rejection well. He shot the woman and threatened to shoot her coworkers if they intervened.

The coworkers ran for cover as Njau shot his girlfriend five times. Njau then turned the gun on himself in an attempt to commit suicide.

Nairobi Police chief Japhet Koome, said that the officer shot himself three times.

“He miraculously survived after shooting himself three times in the left biceps and chest,” said.

Njau is in critical but stable condition, and is expected to survive.

Koome said that the officer will be dismissed and charged with the murder of Wanjohi, when he is discharged from the hospital.
