(Scroll down for video) A man called police for help after his girlfriend threatened to commit suicide.

However, things took a bizarre turn and the woman was shot by police in Florida.

Officers were called to a home on Buckingham Road, about 8:30 a.m., by a man who said that his girlfriend was armed with a gun and wanted to kill herself.

When officers arrived, they found 46-year-old Bobbie Sapp threatening to commit suicide, Winter Park police Sgt. Garvin McComey said.

There were several guns in the home.

Officer tried to calm her down and asked her to drop the gun. Sapp refused to follow orders and instead, police said that she pointed the gun at officers.

Officer used a Taser on the woman, but she did not drop the weapon.

One officer then shot the woman in the right shoulder. Sapp was transported to a hospital, where she is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The officer who shot Sapp, was placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard protocol, while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting.

Sapp now faces charges of attempted murder on a law enforcement officer, assault on a EMT, resisting an officer with violence and felony with a weapon.
